Job Summary

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, and motors, according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
  • Apply mechanical repair principles and procedures to make sure that machinery runs properly.
  • recommend equipment changes and modifications and evaluate new equipment.
  • Assists in the development, implementation and coordination of preventive maintenance programs, work methods, and procedures for efficient maintenance and repair activities in the plants and networks.
  • Building systems maintenance is part of this role.
  • Maintain the work area and physical environment in a neat, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Monitor subcontractor work to its completion.
  • Provides written reports as needed.
  • Analyzes equipment breakdowns and propose possible corrective solutions.
  • Follow all safety and company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.


Requirements / Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Ability to pass all background checks and security screenings, and qualify for the required security clearance
  • Five (5) years of experience in an industrial environment
  • Have a valid 433A certification
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be a motivated self-starter
  • Physically capable of carrying out all aspects of tasks involved
  • Trouble shooting and problem-solving experience in a medium to large organization
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge of French language can be considered as an asset
  • Ability and willingness to work in all types of adverse conditions such as extreme weather, enclosed spaces and heights
