The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Software Business Analyst to join our dynamic product software development teams. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions for our SaaS procurement products. You will be instrumental in defining clear, actionable technical user stories, providing technical clarity to our development teams, and leveraging your analytical skills to ensure our products deliver exceptional value.

What You'll Do

  • Technical User Story Creation: Translate complex business requirements into detailed, technically-oriented user stories with clear acceptance criteria that enable developers to build solutions efficiently and accurately. This includes defining APIs, integration points, and technical workflows.
  • Technical Liaison & Problem Solving: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for developers, providing in-depth technical explanations, answering design and implementation questions, and proactively resolving technical impediments during the development lifecycle.
  • Data Analysis & Product Understanding: You will have a deep understanding of how our SaaS procurement products function at a technical level, including data flows, basic system architecture, and integration capabilities. Work with Product Managers to refine and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that technical dependencies and complexities are accurately represented.
  • Requirements Elicitation & Documentation: Collaborate closely with product managers, stakeholders, and end-users to elicit, analyze, and document comprehensive technical and functional requirements for new features and enhancements within our procurement suite.
  • Technical Specification & Design Review: Participate in technical design discussions, review architectural proposals, and ensure that proposed solutions align with business objectives and technical best practices.
  • Quality Assurance Support: Collaborate with QA to define test cases, support technical testing efforts, and ensure the delivered solution meets the defined technical and business requirements.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or a similar role in a software development environment.
  • Proven ability to write highly technical user stories with clear, concise, and actionable acceptance criteria for developers.
  • Strong technical acumen and understanding of software development principles, methodologies (Agile/Scrum), and technologies.
  • Demonstrable experience working with SaaS products, ideally within the procurement, supply chain, or financial technology domains.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex data sets and deriving actionable insights.
  • Comfortable discussing technical architecture, APIs, databases and integration patterns.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, or similar requirements management and collaboration platforms.

  • Experience with specific procurement processes
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related technical field.

Location: This position will be hybrid with 3 days/week in our Oakville office.
