General Accountant
HighView Partners

Our client is seeking a General Accountant to join their team on a 12-month contract to help navigate the fairways of finance and contribute to their legacy of portfolio excellence.
Your New Employer
Our client is a renowned real estate developer, builder, and property manager with a longstanding presence across the Greater Toronto Area and the Golden Horseshoe Area, where they have built a reputation for delivering exceptional quality and service to their customers. Known for their community-first values and entrepreneurial spirit, our client prioritizes its people, community involvement, and long-term growth. With several golf courses under their belt and a multidisciplinary team behind their success, they are now preparing for a key team member’s upcoming maternity leave. They are seeking a General Accountant to fill a contract role with the potential to become permanent. The business seeks an individual who can bring accuracy and analytical insight to its accounting function during the busiest time of the year.
Your New Role
Reporting to the Director of Accounting & Finance, this position will oversee the full-cycle accounting needs for the golf division. Your responsibilities will include managing the month-end close, preparing journal entries, performing general ledger reconciliations, and producing financial reports. You will collaborate with operational leaders across multiple golf courses, collecting POS data (through systems like Moneris and Lightspeed), conducting variance analysis, monitoring budgets, and assisting with revenue reporting in a high-volume, event-driven environment. This is a hands-on, independent contributor role best suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced service sectors and is eager to take ownership of a crucial part of the financial process.
What Sets you Apart
To succeed in this role, you will have a post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and a minimum of two years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in retail, hospitality, or another service-oriented environment. You’re proficient in Excel and possess a natural analytical mindset, with the confidence to independently engage with various stakeholders to retrieve the data you need. While experience with Yardi is considered an asset, it is not required. Prior exposure to retail-based POS systems like Moneris or Lightspeed will set you apart. Beyond the skills and experience, your personal attributes, enthusiasm, keenness to learn, collaborative spirit, motivation, and improvement-driven mindset will make you stand out. Your ambition to excel and make meaningful contributions defines you as the ideal fit for the role. Most importantly, you bring self-drive, precision, and a proactive approach to everything you do.
What You Can Expect
As a valued team member, you can expect a full-time 12-month contract where you will work 100% on-site at the Mississauga office. You will receive a competitive salary, depending on your experience, along with two weeks’ vacation. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to be considered for benefits and discretionary year-end bonuses if the role becomes permanent. For the right candidate, long-term employment is definitely an option, as the accounting team anticipates ongoing demand and growth. If you are passionate about the real estate industry, the organization is dedicated to offering ample opportunities for professional growth and development, enabling you to advance your career and achieve your goals within the company.
Next steps
If you meet the qualifications and criteria outlined above and are ready to bring your accounting skills to a collaborative, community-focused team where you can make an immediate impact during a pivotal season, we’d love to hear from you.
