The Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Procurement Coordinator to join our team at NWP. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services, negotiating contracts with vendors, and ensuring that all procurement activities align with the polytechnic’s goals, budgetary constraints, and compliance requirements. This role will also involve cross-departmental collaboration and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Negotiate and draft procurement contracts, ensuring terms and compliance;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors;
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with applicable public sector laws, trade agreements and internal policies;
- Review spending against budgets, conduct internal audits, and analyze expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities;
- Work closely with departments to understand procurement needs, provide guidance, and develop sourcing strategies that align with NWP goals and operational requirements;
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Job RequirementsThe successful candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
- Strong understanding of public procurement legislation, policies, and trade agreement obligations
- Familiarity with RFx processes and contract lifecycle management;
- Proficiency with procurement systems and tools, and Microsoft Office;
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
- A high level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism and accountability.
