Consulting Services Manager, Made Safe
Reports To: Director, Made Safe
Direct Reports: (3) Safety Advisors
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Travel: Travel to events and meetings in Winnipeg and within rural MB, limited travel outside of MB on occasion to attend meetings and/or training. Must have a valid driver's license.
Position Summary: The Consulting Services Manager of Made Safe will provide leadership, consulting, and execution for the Made Safe industry-based safety program. The Consulting Services Manager of Made Safe leads a team that supports the member program development and processes necessary to achieve Safe Work Certification and provides practical problem-solving and professional services to members to create safer workplaces across all of Manitoba.
Duties And Responsibilities
Lead A World-Class Class Industry Safety Program
Program Development: Design and implement safety programs for manufacturers that continually drive industry safety KPIs and/or reduce risk. Ensure that all Made Safe MB consulting programs are in line with the MB Act and Regulations, integrate operational excellence and management system best practice, applicable CSA standards, and best practices as needed.
Training & Education: Ensure that all Made Safe training meets the standards identified in the SAFE Work Endorsed Training program. Ensure that content delivery is in line with CME and Made Safe best practices. Deliver materials in line with the requirements and CME and Made Safe best practices.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other CME programs and regions to share best practices, learn, and continuously improve processes that deliver value to CME members, stakeholders, partners, colleagues, and manufacturers.
Leadership Accountability
Strategy Execution: The Consulting Services Manager is responsible for the execution of the processes required for the CME Made Safe Program. The Consulting Services Manager should drive safety KPIs throughout the organization and establish and improve processes needed to achieve those KPIs.
Communication: In all aspects of the role, maintain transparent, respectful, and effective communication that drives CME and CME Made Safe's strategy.
Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous safety improvement through the program processes and activities with the team while collaborating within the broader CME organization to ensure value for manufacturers.
Resource Management: Identify the necessary resources, personnel, budgets, and equipment to effectively support safety initiatives. The Consulting Services Manager embodies a servant leadership style that assists their team in achieving their professional goals while fulfilling the objectives of CME and CME Made Safe.
Stakeholder Engagement: collaborate with internal departments, external regulators, and industry groups to stay current on safety trends and foster best practices. Promote CME and CME Made Safe to all stakeholders.

- As a vital program leadership team member, the manager provides direction and consultation internally on a wide variety of activities and topics, and externally as a process expert.
- Collaborate with the CME Marketing team to promote CME Made Safe and training services, along with the Safe Work Certified program thereby driving value for CME Made Safe and increasing both membership and membership participation in the Safe Work Certified program.
- Raise Made Safes' profile through participation on committees and working groups with external stakeholders and partners.

- Cost Control: Implementing strategies to control costs and maximize program efficiency without compromising quality or objectives.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensuring adherence to financial policies, regulations, and audit requirements.
The qualified candidate would have a combination that includes most of the following qualifications:
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a specific industry-related discipline).
- A safety professional-related certification (CRSP, CIH, etc).
- 8- 10 years of experience in Safety management, or a related role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects, teams, and budgets.
- Experience implement safety programs in a manufacturing environment or solving safety-related challenges.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Organizational and planning skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Business Development- ability to convey the value proposition of Made Safe and CME and drive growth in the programs and CME membership.
- Ability to motivate and lead diverse teams.
- Strategic thinking and adaptability.
- Safety certifications (CRSP, CIH).
- Leadership or management training certifications.
