About The Role

We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to support our Specialty Lines team in the Vancouver, BC!

What You’ll Do Here

  • Develop and implement a business development plan to achieve growth objectives and develop business relationships with the brokerage firms under his/her responsibility.
  • Participate in the development of the premium budget for his/her territory.
  • Implement business development activities adapted to the respective realities of the brokers (segmentation and broker profile), then adapt his/her approach and strategies accordingly.
  • Present and sell Intact's global offer in order to create and maintain the excitement and proximity of the brokerage network.
  • Know the market and the environment in which it evolves.
  • Monitor all of the company's activities that influence the business relationships of the firms under his responsibility.
  • Advise brokerage firms on marketing solutions to ensure the promotion and growth of sales related to Intact products and services.
  • Ensure Intact's marketing intelligence in order to seize business opportunities and identify threats (sale-purchase merger).
  • Collaborate with his/her manager and directors in motivating the underwriting team to achieve a consistent and sustained level of engagement.
  • Share network knowledge with the team and act as a business development mobilizer.
  • Represent your role and region on various regional and provincial committees and advise other areas of the company (Actuarial, Finance, HR, Marketing and other departments).

What You Bring To The Table

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience.
  • Can negotiate moderate to complex situations.
  • Can influence business relationships to achieve business development and growth objectives.
  • Good management of the pressure to achieve objectives.
  • Good knowledge of the brokerage network.
  • Very good knowledge of business, auto and home insurance products.
  • Good knowledge of software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Availability to attend various activities (cocktail parties, conventions, etc.) outside of normal business hours.
  • Valid BC Class 5 driver's license with good driving record.
  • Demonstrate a high level of autonomy, organization and proactivity.
  • Strive for excellence and be inspired by the client.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Salary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity:

$81,800.00 - $122,800.00
