Executive Director
Creative Employment Access Society

About CEAS
The Creative Employment Access Society (CEAS) is a well-established non-profit in the Comox Valley, proudly serving the region since 1989. We provide a range of programs—from essential skills training to self-employment coaching—for all job seekers. Some programs are tailored to diverse groups: youth, Indigenous people, immigrants/refugees, older workers, individuals with disabilities, and more.
We operate the WorkBC Employment Services Centre in Courtenay, offering employment counselling, workshops, job-search tools, labour-market insights, and one-on-one support. In addition, we operate vital local initiatives like the Comox Valley Community Services Directory, and Foundry Works.
About the role
As a leader at CEAS, you’ll guide the team with purpose, aligning our work with the Board’s vision while fostering a respectful, accountable, and psychologically safe workplace. You’ll be both an internal leader and the external face of the organization, representing CEAS with integrity and heart.
In partnership with the Board of Directors, you’ll provide regular updates, attend meetings, and help ensure our work stays on track with strategic goals and governance policies. Operationally, you’ll oversee program delivery, ensure policy compliance, manage our physical spaces, and champion innovation and service improvements.
You’ll also support a strong workplace culture through inclusive HR practices and by championing our commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
Finally, you’ll nurture community relationships, connect with funders and partners, and raise awareness of CEAS’s impact through advocacy and outreach.
You bring a solid grasp of labour market trends and employment challenges, along with clear communication, strategic leadership, and strong financial skills. Tech-savvy and data-informed, you're also experienced in securing funding and building meaningful partnerships. With at least five years of progressive leadership in the non-profit, public, or private sectors—ideally including work in social services or with Boards—you have a track record of delivering real results. A relevant post-secondary education is required, and graduate-level studies are a welcome bonus.
