What you'll do:

  • Complete the full month-end process independently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all accounting activities.
  • Consolidate subsidiary accounts and prepare stand-alone as well as consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Prepare and present detailed monthly balance sheets, income statements, and budget variance analyses to provide clear insights into financial performance.
  • Create consolidation and elimination entries while managing large volumes of data efficiently and presenting information in an organised manner.
  • Provide backup support to the Controller as required, demonstrating reliability and adaptability within the finance team.
  • Lead the monthly accounting close process by managing the General Ledger, recording transactions, classifying entries, and reconciling account balances according to company policies.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting structure and general ledger framework to ensure accurate reporting at all times.
  • Collaborate with external auditors by supplying requested documentation to facilitate smooth audit completion processes.
  • Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure timely preparation and filing of corporate tax returns while maintaining compliance standards.
  • Continuously evaluate workflow processes for efficiency improvements, propose recommendations for changes to accounting policies or procedures, and partner with cross-functional teams for implementation.

What you bring:

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in progressive accounting roles within complex organisational structures is essential for success in this position.
  • A university degree in Finance, Accounting or Business-related field is required; advanced degrees are considered an asset.
  • CPA designation is preferred due to the technical demands of IFRS reporting and consolidation responsibilities.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities combined with critical thinking skills enable you to interpret complex data sets effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing best practices in key operating activities while driving continuous process improvements across functions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously using excellent organisational skills and effective time management strategies.
  • Experience working under pressure while meeting strict deadlines showcases your dependability within fast-moving environments.
  • Strong mentoring capabilities allow you to support junior staff members while fostering knowledge sharing across teams.
