We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee projects from planning through completion, ensuring they meet budget, schedule, and quality goals. This role involves coordinating teams, managing client communication, and maintaining compliance with safety and building regulations.

The client is a reputable general contractor with close to 40 years of expertise in delivering quality construction services, primarily focusing on retail, corporate, and airport projects. They are recognized for their dedication to superior craftsmanship, timely project delivery, and maintaining strong partnerships with their clients.

Description

  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle from kickoff to closeout

  • Provide regular progress updates and reports to clients and internal teams

  • Ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and meet quality expectations

  • Work collaboratively with Site Supervisors and Project Coordinators to align schedules and project milestones

  • Coordinate procurement of materials, tools, and equipment as needed

  • Secure all necessary permits and regulatory approvals

  • Liaise with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants

  • Monitor compliance with building codes and safety regulations

  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation and schedules

  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to prevent delays or cost overruns

Profile

  • Demonstrated success managing construction projects in retail and corporate environments, from interior renovations to ground-up builds

  • Strong understanding of construction delivery methods and project management best practices

  • Familiarity with CCDC contracts (2, 5A, and 5B)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships across clients, teams, and subcontractors

  • Proven leadership abilities with experience guiding and mentoring project teams

  • Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously while balancing resource demands

  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities

  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Conflict resolution and crisis management experience

  • Budgeting expertise

  • Proficient with Microsoft Project or equivalent project scheduling software

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field

  • Health & Safety certifications and Project Management credentials are a plus

  • Minimum 5 years' experience leading retail construction projects
