Privacy Analyst

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Privacy Analyst. The successful candidate(s) will be a contributing member of the Cybersecurity and Risk Management Branch (the Branch) by delivering expertise to privacy-related initiatives as assigned by the Branch. The role is considered essential for the successful delivery of information systems and applications containing personal information.

Responsibilities:

• Providing interpretation and enforcement of the information security policy and standards;

• Providing information security education and awareness;

• Responding to information security incidents;

• Performing Threat Risk Assessments (TRAs) for IT-related business initiatives throughout GOS;

• Providing security assessment and overall security requirements oversight for IT-related solution and services procurements;

• Providing information security advice and guidance for business areas; and

• Evaluating new threats and vulnerabilities.

Deliverables:

• Conducting Privacy Impact Assessments;

• Performing Privacy Maturity Model Assessments, if/when requested;

• Guiding the Branch and its clients on privacy legislation and requirements;

• Supporting breach responses for incidents involving privacy;

• Conducting privacy focus groups and/or information sessions;

• Liaise with GOS’s Access and Privacy Officers to further strengthen maturity;

• Creating and reviewing privacy policies and procedures, if/when necessary;

• Preparing and delivering privacy training, if/when necessary; and

• Other privacy-related tasks as determined through engagement in future initiatives.
