POSITION SUMMARY

The Communications and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and execution of fund development and communications strategies centered around the needs of Winnifred Stewart in areas of donor stewardship and engagement across the organization and in the community. The primary responsibilities are to support the Fund Development and Communications team with administrative support by storytelling, stewardship, and implementation of communications including website and social media.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the development of publications for Winnifred Stewart, Empties to Winn, and the Joey Moss Memorial Fund) in collaboration with the Fund Development and Communications Team
  • Research and develop content and a social media strategy for consistent and effective blog posts, email campaigns, and social media content for Winnifred Stewart and Empties to Winn.
  • Assist in monitoring social media engagement and analytics across all social media platforms, and develop ways to improve them
  • Support the development of the Winnifred Stewart website and maintain regularly with blogs, stories and event updates
  • Recruit and manage volunteer requirements and coordinate as needed on behalf of Winnifred Stewart for internal/external events and/or fundraising activities
  • Generation of content and storytelling for annual reports, impact reports and newsletters for Winnifred Stewart.
  • Assist in the coordination of special event activities (community based and internal) including the Joey Moss Memorial Golf Tournament and internal events as they arise
  • Organize and liaise with third-party fundraising events and activities including but not limited to: Oilers 50/50, casinos, and Climbing for Change.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A positive attitude that acknowledges the gifts and passions of persons with disabilities, an aptitude for service and support, and a relevant knowledge and skill base.
  • Secondary school education in a relevant discipline (fund development, business, marketing, communications, social sciences)
  • Minimum one year communications experience, not for profit sector encouraged
  • Knowledge and experience in social media, storytelling and donor engagement · Proficient with Microsoft Office · Strong organizational abilities and time management skills
  • Class 5 drivers license, personal vehicle, clear drivers abstract and 2-million-dollar liability insurance
  • Willingness to complete a Police Information Check with the Vulnerable Sector Search
