We’re looking for an On-Call 4th Class Power Engineer to support building operations, ensuring facilities run smoothly and efficiently. In this flexible position, you’ll be available on-call—including weekends and holidays—to respond to operational needs, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot building systems as required. This flexible, on-call position—including weekends and holidays—allows you to manage your availability while staying involved in meaningful, technical work.

As the go-to expert for a diverse building portfolio, you'll collaborate with a skilled operations team to uphold top facility standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, has strong technical aptitude, and is adaptable to varying schedules.

What are we looking for?

  • Self-starters who find their own way

  • Valid 4th Class Power Engineering certificate
  • Knowledge of building HVAC, plumbing, electrical, building automation systems and life safety systems
  • Exceptional communications, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Able to easily adopt new technology and innovative business solutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Exposure to Office 365 and Power BI; an asset

What will you do?

  • Perform daily building operations tasks like building maintenance and building repairs
  • Monitor the performance of heating (heating plant capacity may vary), electrical, mechanical, and security systems and trouble shoot problems if required
  • Monitor certain preventive maintenance requirements that are completed by a qualified subcontractor (e.g., fire alarm inspections, backflow preventer inspections, annual chiller preventive maintenance)
  • Conduct regular building equipment checks/inspections and identify abnormalities or inefficiencies
  • Respond to tenant service requests and emergencies in a timely manner
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with other team members
