Novarc Technologies is looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our growing team and support the production of our cobots.
Summary: As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will be a key executive responsible for the organization's technological vision, encompassing engineering (software and hardware), product development, and research and development (R&D).
This role requires a strategic mindset and strong business acumen to effectively assess both short-term and long-term organizational needs to achieve company objectives. You are expected to stay current with technological trends and possess a comprehensive understanding of diverse business concepts, skillfully balancing immediate demands with long-term goals.

Technical & Operational
- Technology Strategy: Develop and manage the company's technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Resource Management: Ensure efficient, profitable, and secure use of technological resources.
- Trend Monitoring: Stay current with technology trends and developments, and monitor technology performance metrics.
- Research & Development: Manage the research, development, and deployment of new technologies and improvements, fostering a culture of innovation and creativity.
- Communication & Representation: Communicate technology strategies to partners, investors, and staff, and represent the technology agenda in meetings and hiring decisions.
- Budget & External Relations: Develop and manage technology budgets and business planning, and build and maintain external relationships with technology platforms, partners, and universities.
- System Oversight & Collaboration: Oversee system design and architecture changes, and work closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to deliver new products and features.
- Intellectual Property & Funding: Lead the company's intellectual property strategy and processes, and secure government grants and tax credits to maximize budget efficiency.
- Industry Positioning: Support R&D in publishing peer-reviewed papers, positioning the company as a technology leader in welding automation.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in engineering, software, or R&D roles within both small and large tech companies.
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.
- Previous experience as a CTO in a similar technology leadership position is a must.
- Demonstrated success in tech leadership positions with strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of product, software, and hardware development platforms, programs, and policies.
- Awareness of technological trends for strategic planning and foresight.
- Experience in creating budgets and business planning.
- Proficiency in conducting technological analyses and research.
- Demonstrated complex problem-solving ability and sound judgement.
- Excellent oral and written communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to build credibility and trust inside and outside the Company.
- Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams through coaching and mentorship; excellent delegation and conflict resolution skills.
