THE ROLE
As the Sr. Digital Merchandising Category Manager, you will play a key role in optimizing MEC’s digital shopping experience by ensuring products are findable, campaigns are impactful, and insights drive continuous improvement. You have a strong sales mindset and an analytical approach, using data to identify opportunities, streamline processes, and improve the effectiveness of our digital merchandising strategies. You are hands-on with digital tools, automation, and reporting, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and uncover actionable insights.
You are responsible for overseeing the merchandising of our product landing pages, search, product recommendations, digital marketplace, and product campaigns that support our eCommerce and brand strategy. You’ll proactively analyze past campaign performance to refine strategies and improve results, ensuring our digital initiatives align with customer demand and business objectives. As a subject matter expert, you will act as a resource for the team, sharing knowledge, coaching others, and developing tools that improve workflows and decision-making. You’ll have a varied role that takes you beyond just the basics and challenges you every day with the customer and our core values at the heart of every decision you make.

- Optimize MEC’s digital shopping experience, ensuring customers can easily find and discover the right products through thoughtful category structure, navigation, and filtering
- Improve site search performance, leveraging insights to enhance relevancy and conversion
- Drive product recommendation strategies, using data to refine, increase engagement and grow attributed revenue
- Optimize search and recommendation platforms to enhance product discovery and merchandising impact
- Grow the Co-op digital experience, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to operationalize the program and identify online business development opportunities
- Create and update promotional content including the homepage, campaign landing pages, product
- Analyze past campaign and category performance, identifying actionable insights and proactively optimizing experiences before the next period of focus
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, proactively planning digital merchandising strategies that align with Marketing, Merchandising and eCommerce goals
- Develop automation and reporting tools, streamlining workflows and improving team efficiency
- Apply a sales-driven mindset to digital merchandising, identifying gaps and opportunities to improve product placement and conversion
- Act as a resource and mentor, helping team members become more data-informed and efficient in their workflows
- Stay ahead of industry trends, conducting research on best practices in digital merchandising, eCommerce, and automation
- Complete various individual and team-based projects as requested by Director, Digital Merchandising
- 5-7 years experience in eCommerce, preferably in a hands-on digital merchandising role
- A strong understanding of modern digital merchandising, search and product recommendations tools
- Understanding of agile workflows, digital commerce analytics and KPIs
- Experience mentoring and onboarding team members
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving improvements
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to drive execution against project goals and deliverables.
- A track record of handling multiple tasks and projects at a time, prioritizing workload effectively delegating and thriving in a dynamic and complex environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
