Responsibilities


The Chief Proctor will assist instructors with administering exams, including written tests, multiple choice, and tests completed electronically. The incumbent will oversee the entire exam process and will have various responsibilities in partnership with the Exam Coordinator. These responsibilities will include: preparing exam documentation for presentation to the students in each exam room, preparing seating plans and/or tracking documentation for each exam room. On the examination day, the Chief Proctors are responsible for communicating exam information to each proctor on staff and staying in regular contact with proctors on any questions or issues arising in the exam room. Chief Proctors will communicate regarding anything that needs attention or escalation in the exam room. Chief Proctors do periodic checks of exam rooms, assist with proctor breaks and monitor student activity in the building during exams. After exam completion, Chief Proctors are responsible for ensuring proctors have completed all relevant exam documentation, compile exams for distribution to faculty and accurately assess that all exams have been collected.

Qualifications

Education:
  • No Degree, Diploma, or Professional Designation required

Experience:
- 2 - 3 years' of experience providing customer service

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
  • Ability to confront issues or situations in an objective manner
  • Ability to address concerns with proctors and/or students in a tactful and diplomatic manner.
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
  • Ability to respond promptly to issues and knowing when to escalate for further decision and response including concerns regarding academic integrity
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to evaluate information and make appropriate decisions
  • Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
