Operations Shop Technician

Job Duties:

• Hold applicable equipment end user certification (e.g. Skid Steer, Jordair Compressor Level 1, Overhead Crane).
• Understand proper use and limitations of applicable equipment.
• Follow all guidelines and preventative maintenance schedules outlined by the organization and manufacturers.
• Participate in facility audits, toolbox meetings and ERP Drills.
• Follow all safe work practices outlined and apply the suitable PPE for specific task.
• Regular operation and basic preventative maintenance of air compressor.
• Verify, print and upload documentation and records as required.
• Organize yard and shop and clearly identify equipment ready and inspected vs. out of service.
• Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and repairs to fleet (trucks and trailers).
• Identify any services required and tag equipment not deemed safe for operation.
• Support Fleet Supervisor with preventative maintenance appointments, including delivery and/or pick up of units.
• General grounds keeping in various weather conditions.
• Additional duties as required.

Requirements:

• Must be able to consistently lift 50 pounds or more.
• Must maintain a level of physical and mental readiness necessary to safely and reliably perform job duties daily.
• Troubleshooting abilities.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Valid class 5 license with clean abstract.
• Skid steer operation experience an asset.
• Experience hauling trailers and equipment and an asset.
• Jordair compressor operation and maintenance knowledge an asset.
• TDG compressed air 1002 knowledge and asset.
• Experience with high pressure valves and fittings an asset.
• Familiarity with DOT guidelines an asset.
Experience operating various hand and power tools an asset
