The successful candidate will work within a team-based environment that focuses on safety, efficiency, team spirit, and service.
The IT Manager leads the IT Department across the Harbour Air Group of Companies, including Harbour Air, Aerospace Services, and the Flying Otter Restaurant. This role oversees all aspects of IT infrastructure and operations across nine bases and locations, ensuring secure, efficient, and uninterrupted support for flight operations, customer service, and internal business systems.
As a transformational leader, the IT Manager champions innovation and continuous improvement while driving change initiatives that align technology with evolving business needs. This role requires systems thinking to connect enterprise-wide technologies with operational outcomes and the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include managing IT staff, hardware, software, networking, and applications, as well as critical systems such as the Electronic Flight Bag, booking and reservation platforms, phone systems, and network equipment. The IT Manager is also accountable for cyber security, IT project management, budgeting, strategic planning, and providing senior-level and on-call support (24/7) to ensure organizational resilience and system continuity.
WORK HOURS: Shifts will vary based on operational needs. Candidate must be available to work weekends LOCATION: 4760 Inglis Dr, Richmond BC

Responsibilities and Expectations___________________________________________________
- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of the IT Department, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Supervise, mentor, and support IT team members, including setting priorities, goals, coaching, and performance development
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes for IT staff
- Ensure clear communication of departmental goals, expectations, and priorities aligned with organizational strategy
- Long term planning, strategy and direction of overall IT department
- Provide direct Tier 2/3 troubleshooting and technical support
- IT project management and cross-functional collaboration
- Management of cybersecurity policy and firewall management, including vulnerability resolution
- MDR and cybersecurity reporting
- Provide Senior IT Support and IT Infrastructure Management (Booking system and ERP support; Microsoft 365 and network infrastructure; Hardware Management for ~300 devices)
- Quarterly review and risk assessments
- Website and phone systems support, including on-call availability in case of emergency
- Disaster Recovery process and planning and digital signage setup
- Management of IT budgeting, expense tracking, vendor contracts, licensing and subscription documentation
- User training and awareness
- Any other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field + 10 years related experience in the IT Industry, including 5 years of progressive managerial experience, or comparable combination of education and experience
- Leads with a balance of strategic direction and team support, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
- Demonstrates emotional intelligence, mentors staff and navigates change effectively while aligning IT goals with organizational priorities
- Exceptional leadership and team development skills with the ability to motivate and coach diverse technical and non-technical teams
- Exhibits strong organizational abilities by managing multiple technologies and priorities
- Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems administration, and cybersecurity (including Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Linux, Apple, VMWare, AWS, and VOIP systems)
- Proficient in managing network infrastructure, DNS, switches, access points, and phone/contact centre systems
- Strong working knowledge of server environments and configurations (Windows, Linux, Active Directory, File/Print Services, GPO)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), backup/recovery tools, and endpoint security solution
- Capably handles administrative tasks, budgeting, and departmental planning with a high level of situational awareness
- Maintains a positive, approachable demeanor and treats colleagues with empathy and respect. Fosters a supportive and collaborative work environment that builds team comradery and trust
- Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal
