Elysian Animal Assisted Interventions

Advisory Board

Invitation for Expression of Interest

We are looking for new members to join our Advisory Board at Elysian

What is Elysian?

Elysian provides animal assisted therapy and learning over three sites, across Surrey and Hampshire. We work with children and young people with anxiety and a range of complex emotional and mental health needs during term time, and all ages outside of term time, weekends and evenings. We facilitate Education (Secondary), alternative provision, therapy and therapeutic placements for children and young people. We also provide training and various bespoke events for children, young people, adults, families and groups.

What is the Advisory Board?

The Advisory Board is a group of professionals and individuals, who have various expertise in their fields that they use to support and advise the Governors and managers at Elysian. Members support Elysian to ensure we provide the best possible provision for the children and young people we work with in our education and alternative provision during the term time.

The Board meets at least once per term, usually on the Westland Farm site (though can also be attended virtually). Members act as a critical friend to Elysian, supporting the leadership to ensure we meet and exceed the minimum standards set for our provisions, such as the Independent School Standards and various other legislation and governance expectations.

Every term, members are presented with a report by leadership for feedback, advice and direction. This includes advising on the development of strategy, policy and activity as well as the identification of future priorities and opportunities to be pursued under a working action plan to address priorities, data, skills and partnerships. Members are encouraged to visit our sites as part of quality assurance and supporting various elements of the governance and monitoring of the provisions.
