The Supplier Engagement Office is part of a unique team that is responsible for ensuring our supplier community’s experience is considered the Best in Canada. As the Assistant Manager Supplier Engagement, you’ll join Loblaw’s Strategy, Supplier Engagement & Responsible Sourcing Team, focused on elevating how we engage with our suppliers and lead responsibly.
Reporting to our Director, Supplier Engagement, you’ll participate in many aspects of our business. Providing daily support and interaction with our small supplier community, analyzing metrics, executing annual financial reviews, managing periodic reporting, creating PowerPoint presentations, facilitate supplier supported events and so much more. You’ll also work with and support our Communications and Sustainability teams.

What You’ll Do:
- Build trusted relationships with our extensive supplier communities
- Cultivate strong relationships across all support verticals including Finance (Procure to Pay), GS1, EDI, Procurement, Merchandising, Local Specialists with all divisions, Supply Chain, Data Ops, etc
- Ensure the governance of all supplier related programs are achieved within agreed to Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and commitments & tenants are realized accordingly
- Manage our Small Supplier & Vendor Communications processes and inboxes
- Action inquires from our supplier community efficiently, engaging with them and advocating for them
- Solution through supplier issues that need to be corrected within our systems
- Balance the need to be consistent and transparent regarding business guardrails, process, and procedures.
- Manage the approval process for enrollment into the LSSP. and support the governance of various programs within our network
- Adhoc analysis and support as needed for various projects
- Assist in the development and participate of our Small Supplier Days, various Enterprise, Supplier and Association events across the country
- A curious mindset and positive, self-motivated attitude.
- Possess empathy and grace. This role requires one to have superior skills to serve and support our diverse supplier community, maintaining a healthy relationship built on trust and advocacy is imperative
- Ability to innovate, influence others, and collaborate with many diverse teams.
- Strong relationship management skills and an uplifting communication style.
- Ability to manage daily tasks and deliver to hard deadlines when priorities pivot
- Analytical focus and experience using data to make decisions.
- Financial, business and retail knowledge.
- Resourceful and internet savvy, experienced with social media platforms (Linkedin, Instagram, etc)
- Post-secondary education in business, retail, marketing, procurement/sourcing or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years in a procurement or retail merchandising role.
- Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and knowledge working with various software platforms.
