Operations Analyst
City of Winnipeg

As the Operations Analyst you will:
Analyse service management and operational issues to determine the feasibility of implementing new or additional processes and automated solutions.
Analyse the impact of existing service management and operational processes and automation, and recommend improvements or modifications where required.
Develop, code, test, implement, maintain, and support operational systems and applications.
Prepare and maintain technical and operational documentation.
Develop, analyse, maintain, and follow service management processes in accordance with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
Maintain awareness of industry trends and advancements in automated solutions and processes, and research new technologies and trends.
Provide training and consulting to users on specific applications and processes.
Take courses related to development as required.
Substitute for other Operations staff in their absence.
Perform other related duties pertaining to the operations environment compatible with the classification.
Your education and qualifications include:
University degree or diploma in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Four years’ experience within an IT Service Desk environment.
Experience using the HaloITSM Application.
Experience as a HaloITSM Application Administrator would be an asset.
Understanding of SQL and relational databases.
Experience using programming languages such as Javascript, Java, or HTML.
Understanding of service management processes in accordance with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
Experience analyzing, evaluating, resolving operational and application-related problems.
Experience developing and implementing new processes and procedures.
Strong verbal communication skills with employees at all levels and contractors/vendors.
Strong written communication skills with employees at all levels and contractors/vendors.
Experience conducting training sessions and meetings.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively, collaboratively, and professionally with fellow employees at all levels and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills, together with an ability to take initiative, multi-task and work under time constraints
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Conditions of employment:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
A Police Information Check satisfactory to the employer will be required from the applicant(s) or successful candidate(s), at their expense.
