About the Role

The Director, Advancement, School of Medicine is responsible for the development of strategies and programs for capital and major gifts fundraising and the direction and management of all fundraising and sponsorship activity within the School of Medicine to maximize public and private support. This role also provides leadership to staff and volunteers to ensure the effective implementation of all programs and appropriate donor recognition and stewardship for School of Medicine donors.

As the SFU School of Medicine prepares to welcome its inaugural class, the Director of Advancement will play a critical role in developing and executing a fundraising strategy that reflects and supports the School’s bold, community-driven mission. Reporting to the Senior Director, Advancement, the ideal candidate will be a seasoned advancement professional with more than five years of major and principal gift experience. Experience with capital campaigns and academic fundraising is considered a strong asset.
