Our infant classrooms support children aged 0–24 months in a safe, engaging, and inquiry-based environment. As an Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the Lead Teacher to ensure a warm and developmentally appropriate space where infants thrive emotionally, physically, and cognitively. You’ll play a key role in implementing our brain-based learning curriculum and caregiving routines.

You’ll play a key role in implementing our brain-based learning curriculum and caregiving routines.
Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily routines, feeding, diapering, and naptime
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom aligned with Alberta Child Care Licensing and Accreditation Standards
- Set up developmentally appropriate provocations and open-ended activities to support early development
- Observe and document developmental milestones and assist in planning learning experiences
- Encourage positive social interactions and respect among children
- Assist with classroom setup, cleaning, and ensuring materials are safe and accessible
- Foster communication with families and contribute to a collaborative teaching team
- Formal education within Early Childhood Education
- Early Childhood Certification - ECE Level 1, 2 or 3
- Minimum 1-year teaching experience
- Current First Aid Certificate (may be obtained upon hire).
- Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, within the past 6 months.
- Effective interpersonal skills, exhibiting a supportive and positive approach.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, time management, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs., especially when working with infants and toddlers.
