The Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) is a key member of the maintenance team, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment and systems throughout the facility. This unionized position demands both physical capability and mental agility to safely and effectively support production operations. The successful candidate must hold a valid Ontario Millwright (433A) license and demonstrate sound mechanical troubleshooting skills and knowledge of forging equipment.

Responsibilities
- Installation & Assembly: Assemble machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment and functionality before installation.
- Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and repair or replace faulty components.
- Troubleshooting: Identify the root cause of equipment malfunctions and implement solutions to restore functionality.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and procedures in an industrial setting, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Reading & Interpreting Technical Documents: Utilize blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to guide your work.
- Material Handling: Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as forklifts and cranes, to position machinery and parts.
- Welding & Fabrication: Millwrights may perform welding, brazing, and soldering to fabricate or repair components.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance and production staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Record Keeping: May be required to document maintenance activities and system specifications.
- Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification – Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A)
- 3-5 years of hands on job knowledge, preferably in an industrial environment
- An acceptable criminal records check is required
- Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, and power transmission.
- Experience in blueprint reading, precision measurements, and general machining.
- Demonstrated knowledge of proper LOTO and safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and respond to emergency breakdowns.
