An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a professional nurse leader and patient champion, as Lead Nurse for the Theatre Department at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
The Department has over 300 nurses and operating department practitioners supporting 20 operating theatres.
You will provide professional leadership for the Theatre service to ensure safe, effective, person-centred care is provided, and to develop effective policies and strategies to ensure the highest professional standards which underpin excellent outcomes for patients.
You will have responsibility for effective deployment of the staff resource to support maximum operating department activity, safely and within available budget.
You will prioritise staff development, education, training and wellbeing, to safeguard service continuity and future workforce requirements.
You will assume a leading role in the redesign and development of the Theatre services, through multi-disciplinary team-working involving nursing, ODP, anaesthetic and surgical staff.
In partnership with the Clinical Director, you will take responsibility for delivery of the Department’s Clinical Governance agenda, ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality care to our patients.
You will have a reputation for excellence and a proven track record of leadership and strong patient advocacy.
You will be a Registered Nurse, educated to degree level or equivalent, with a demonstrable record of achievement in a senior nursing position
