This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Principal Accountabilities
Cut, trim, and otherwise prepare standard cuts of meat for sale at self-serve counters or according to customer's orders
Grind meats using powered grinders and slicing machines
Shape, lace and tie roasts and other meats
Manage inventory, determine amount, product line and freshness of products according to company and customer requirements
Ensure food storage conditions are adequate
May supervise other butchers, meat cutters
Comfortable working on a cold temperature control environment
Operate packaging equipment
Styling meat cuts on trace
Open and prepare boxes and combos of meat for processing
General housekeeping
Required Qualifications
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 80 lbs and minor twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays and different shifts with advance notice
Preferred Qualifications:
General meat plant experience
Experience operating mobile equipment such as forklift
