As a Senior Research Scientist, you will support various teams within the organization where a need for specialized cutting-edge technical skills is required. You will leverage your expertise to create value for the organization while supporting the team through coaching. You will be responsible for providing significant business value through the creation; maintenance; implementation of analytical solutions and effectively communicate findings and recommendation to peers, superior and direct team.

How You Will Create Impact

  • Autonomously extract, clean, reconcile and prepare the data required for your work from internal data sources and external sources typical in your domain.
  • Define the required models and techniques to solve business problems and support other through the execution.
  • Coach peers on the use of a scientific methodology in all projects, tasks, and interactions.
  • Demonstrate critical judgment in determining how a business objective can be addressed by leveraging tools from your domain of expertise.
  • Build and maintain a professional network in the BI industry, the actuarial community, academia, or researchers from a scientific field of expertise relevant for the organization.
  • Proactively seek out break-through scientific innovations and emerging technologies and connect them to the value they could bring to the insurance industry and our organization.
  • Autonomously and efficiently communicate findings to a business audience.

To Join Our Team

  • You have up to 6-9 years of experience in the Analytical, Data Science or other related field.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or any other relevant field.
  • ACAS, FCAS or other professional, scientific or technical designations are considered an asset.
  • You have experience solving complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions; and exercising judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information by providing clear recommendations for improvement.
  • You have strong knowledge and understanding of data analysis, programing, modeling techniques, data warehouse and data management, research, architecture and design.
