The Role
We’re seeking a strategic and proactive Marketing and Communications Advisor to join our growing team. This mid-level position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in integrated communications, digital marketing, proposal development, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a key role in helping bring BGC’s brand, values, and strategy to life for internal and external audiences.
The Marketing and Communications Advisor supports the successful creation, development, and execution of communications strategies and materials that connect BGC’s people and help them understand their role in delivering on our strategic plan. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you’ll collaborate across functions and regions, delivering campaigns, content, and innovations that promote BGC’s services, products, and expertise—particularly in new and emerging markets.
Responsibilities
- Supports the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned with BGC’s business objectives and strategic plan.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand regional and service-line priorities and develops tailored strategies that support marketing and business development objectives.
- Plans, develops/designs, and edits compelling content across multiple channels including the corporate website, newsletters, social media, white papers, competitive proposals, and targeted campaigns.
- Maintains current knowledge of evolving digital and social trends, and explores innovative tools, platforms, and storytelling methods to increase engagement and brand reach.
- Creates and executes digital campaigns (organic and paid) with measurable KPIs, using insights from tools like Google Analytics and social media dashboards to refine strategies.
- Supports staff participation in conferences, tradeshows, and industry events by developing presentation materials, coordinating branding and logistics, and promoting BGC’s presence through digital channels.
- Supports internal communication initiatives that promote culture, leadership messages, and change management efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of experience in marketing and communications, ideally in a professional services, engineering, or environmental sector.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful strategic communications and integrated marketing plans.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to varied audiences.
- Strong grasp of strategic communications principles and tactics.
- Experience managing websites and digital channels, with working knowledge of CMS (e.g., WordPress), Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and related tools.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
- Experience in proposal development for competitive bids in technical or professional services.
- Proactive, organized, and collaborative, with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is highly desirable, and preference may be given to a bilingual candidate.
