From healthcare and commercial to multi-family and institutional builds, this team delivers impactful construction projects ranging from a few million to tens of millions in value

Key Responsibilities: Preconstruction & Tendering

Review tender packages and help define the estimating strategy (Tender Plan)
Prepare preliminary tender schedules and conduct quantity take-offs
Participate in walkthroughs, pre-bid meetings, and post-tender interviews as required
Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensure accuracy, and input into estimating spreadsheets
Prepare and submit tender forms in alignment with submission requirements
Participate in lessons learned and post-project reviews

Set up and manage estimates using the company’s ERP and estimating systems
Organize project data, trade lists, and records for active and archived bids
Research new subcontractors/trades and maintain an up-to-date contact list for future bids
Manage estimate files, organize submissions, and document quote tracking efficiently

Conduct pre-construction site inspections as needed
Send bid invitations with plans/specs and respond to trade inquiries
Issue RFIs to consultants and coordinate with internal teams
Keep stakeholders informed on bid status and tender outcomes

Represent the company positively in preconstruction conversations
Support the identification of new project opportunities
Act as a brand ambassador through your work ethic and professionalism
What We’re Looking For: Experience & Skills

6+ years of progressive estimating experience with a degree OR 8+ years with a diploma
Background in commercial or institutional construction projects
Strong understanding of estimating principles, scopes, and trade coordination
Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, Bluebeam, MS Project, and bid-sharing platforms
Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
Analytical mindset and attention to detail
Ability to manage time, organize data, and meet tight deadlines
Enthusiastic about continual learning, construction technology, and best practices

Experience leading small teams or mentoring junior team members
Familiarity with supply chain and risk mitigation concepts
Working knowledge of drawing packages and construction documentation
