The Accounts Receivable, Cash Application Associate is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate application of incoming payments to customer accounts. This role plays a key part in maintaining up-to-date receivable records and supporting overall cash flow accuracy. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, experience with ERP systems, and a collaborative approach to resolving discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders.

The Teammate Will Responsible For

  • Apply daily customer payments (cheques, EFT, ACH, Direct Debits, wire transfers, credit cards) to corresponding invoices in the ERP system
  • Research and resolve unapplied cash and payment discrepancies
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, Collections) to resolve payment issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer accounts and payment history
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts with bank statements
  • Identify and escalate issues impacting cash application or account accuracy
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities as needed
  • Prepare reports on unapplied cash, deductions, and cash application metrics
  • Process Credit Card and Direct Debit payments
  • Create Miscellaneous Manual invoices and follow through to payment
  • Create Credit memos for clearing deductions, including LTO deductions
  • Special projects as required.
  • Auditor Requests as Required.

We Are Looking For a Teammate With

  • University Degree/ College Diploma in Accounting.
  • 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or cash application role
  • Strong knowledge of cash application processes and financial controls
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel: Vlookup, Pivot Tables) and ERP systems (e.g. Experience with Oracle Cloud considered an asset)
  • Experience with automated cash application tools or lockbox processing
  • Familiarity with B2B payment methods and deduction management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-volume environment
  • Previous experience with Government Liquor Boards considered an asset.
  • Working towards a certificate or designation with the Credit Institute of Canada considered an asset.
  • French Bilingual an asset

Pre-hire Requirement
