Product Developer – Food Innovation
Location: Oakville, Ontario (Onsite)
Salary: $72,000 – $77,000 per year + benefits

What You’ll Do
- Develop innovative products and improve existing ones in response to project briefs.
- Create and test prototypes to validate product performance.
- Conduct cost analyses to ensure feasibility and profitability.
- Source and qualify raw materials in line with quality and budget targets.
- Ensure product development aligns with Canadian and/or US food regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and timelines.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and formulations with accuracy and organization.
- Prepare product labels and technical specifications.
- Evaluate and test new and alternative ingredients.
- Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment.
- Support additional R&D functions, including integration with global innovation teams.
- Participate in sales and marketing initiatives such as customer visits and trade shows.
- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Biology, Nutrition, or a related field.
- 1–5 years’ experience in product development within the food industry (meat/snack sectors are a plus).
- Knowledge of Canadian and US food regulations.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office tools.
- A creative and analytical mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Hands-on, results-driven approach with excellent time management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Domestic travel may be required 1–2 times per quarter.
- This role is onsite and part of a close-knit R&D team in Oakville.
