About The Role
We’re looking for a Marketing Specialist who can take ownership, think critically, and has experience marketing products and services to drive growth. You will be responsible for supporting activities that drive deposits, and new members to Vancity. You thrive on connecting with lines of business to develop marketing initiatives that increase acquisition of new members to Vancity, increase uptake of our solutions and decrease attrition. Succeeding in this role will mean understanding our business, our members, the ideal marketing mix, and our brand.
In this role, you will report into a Marketing Manager and be part of a dynamic marketing team.
This is an 18 month contract, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events.
A Typical Day Would Involve
The salary range for the role is $56,500 to $70,600. The upper half of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals who have demonstrated consistent strong performance in the role and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill.

A Typical Day Would Involve
- Partnering with our product teams and cross-functional stakeholders to develop marketing strategies that successfully drive growth and build engagement with existing members.
- Using a data-driven approach to plan, execute, and optimize campaigns within a variety of marketing channels (lifecycle journeys, organic social media, paid media, events, and face-to-face).
- Using customer and product insights to refine target markets and simplifying value propositions with the objective of getting the right message to the right person, at the right time.
- Play a key role in go-to-market planning, designing briefs, building, and monitoring integrated campaigns.
- Managing multiple projects on budget and within timelines.
- Working both independently and with the team under direction from your manager.
- Working collaboratively with agency partners and internal teams to develop marketing campaigns that achieve our business objectives.
- Effective & results-driven – an effective worker, who shows full commitment to the tasks assigned and approaches those tasks analytically to deliver results.
- A credible & influential communicator – you are the subject matter expert, able to provide specialized advice, guidance, and explanations, while gaining the necessary support system to make marketing magic happen.
- A strategic planner – you plan and coordinate tactical plans and initiatives; and you lead the development of integrated solutions, services, and programs.
- Curious & innovative – you always do your research to assess and recommend the best course of action on industry and economic trends and identify key risks and opportunities.
- Knowledgeable – you have advanced experience leveraging all aspects of the marketing mix.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, proactive, and innovative – you will be part of an innovative marketing team that thrives on collaboration.
- University Degree, preferably in Marketing or Business
- 4-5 years of professional experience in marketing on the agency or client side.
- Proven experience in marketing project management
- Strong analytical skills, especially pertaining to digital marketing
