University Canada West (UCW) invites applications for continuing track faculty positions within the Master of Business Administration program, Department of Leadership and People Management. Courses within this department include core courses of Talent Management and Leadership in the Global Context, HR and leadership electives pathway courses, and two courses including Leadership for Advanced Project Management and Leadership for STEM Professionals in MBA with specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Leadership
For this position, we are seeking faculty with experience and the ability to teach graduate level
core and Leadership elective pathway courses
including Leadership in the Global Context , Change Management, Negotiations, Leadership & Decision-Making, Intercultural Communications

UCW is seeking faculty members who are highly talented, motivated, and qualified professionals, ready for the next level of challenge in their careers to teach at our Vancouver campuses. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty, and departmental committee meetings; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines, both within and outside the institution. Applicants must have a record of scholarly activity or research commensurate with the rank sought and demonstrable success in teaching
Qualifications:
Applicants for continuing faculty positions in the MBA program should have a related doctoral degree
We are a teaching-intensive university, so candidates must have teaching experience in a degree-granting program at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, including course preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and development of online material/lectures. Additionally, candidates must possess a demonstrated commitment to excellent and innovative pedagogical practices, and engagement in teaching-related scholarly activities. The ability to teach face to face, and in blended and on-line learning environments is essential
Our continuing faculty positions include a research component, and we support research by our faculty, especially as it contributes to great teaching and intellectual development. Your application should include research accomplishments to date, and present research areas you might be interested in pursuing in the future
The continuing faculty positions are located on-campus in our Downtown Vancouver campuses. Applicants must be able to attend in-person classes.
Specific Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Leadership, Organizational Development, or related fields. DBA is also accepted.
  • Have acquired more than 5 years of experience in leadership positions in major corporations.
  • Experience leading multicultural teams.
  • Previous experience in teaching graduate level courses in the leadership domain including Leadership in the Global Context , Change Management, Negotiations, Leadership & Decision-Making, Intercultural Communications and two specialized MBA courses (Leadership for Advanced Project Management in AI & ML and Leadership for STEM Professionals) would be a distinct advantage.
  • Track record of scholarly activity with publications in reputable Q1/ Q2 ranked journals in the OBHR field and/or scholarship of teaching and learning.
  • Track record of service activity in various academic and administrative committees in the academic programs at the graduate level.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) certification or its equivalent like Senior Certified Professional by Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP) and Senior Professional in Human Resources by Human Resource Certification Institute (SPHR) certifications is preferred.
  • A commitment to, and understanding of, the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom and workplace.
