You, As a Software Engineering Manager, Will
- Lead the development of high-quality, robust, secure, performant and maintainable software products - from their inception till their EOL.
- Work collaboratively and drive alignment with other stakeholders, such as Product Owners, Designers, Support, Developers, QA, Architects - to name a few.
- Receive requests for your team’s deliverables in terms of high-level objectives, and be responsible for planning the work, removing obstacles, making adjustments, communicating direction and progress, and rolling up your sleeves and diving deep when needed.
- Be fully accountable for your team’s deliverables, customer satisfaction, efficiencies, standardization of tools & methodologies, as well as team growth - all within budget.
- Be staying up-to-date with the latest tools & technologies in the Software Engineering discipline, and be driving the adoption of those benefiting the division.
- Have a university degree in Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Have 12+ yrs of full-time Software Engineering industry-level experience.
- Have 6+ years of experience as a manager of a Software Engineering team, with a proven track record: left a better team on your way out, compared to what you found on your way in.
- Have experience with Web development, including a variety of tools and technologies used for it, such as JavaScript, React, Java, microservices, RESTful APIs, GCP and Azure, SQL and NoSQL databases, Azure pipelines, Datadog, etc.
- Put customers first and have a customer support mindset: we use technology to solve customer problems and not as a shiny toy.
- Favor delivery & results vs talking & slideware: vision without execution is hallucination.
- Have excellent communication skills: can comfortably speak different languages when talking to developers, to peers, or to upper management.
