Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)
As a Project Director, the incumbent will be required to lead and manage large size project or multiple small to medium size projects with same or similar customer/region. and will also be responsible to contribute to the company’s financial targets while meeting all deliverables and milestones for the project.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for overall projects supervision and their region/projects P&L.
- Coordinates the team regarding resource allocations within the Project Portfolio, monitors and controls the projects, and reports the overall performance of the portfolio.
- Drives project execution and controlling until contract closure, supporting the team with a particular focus on:
- Managing performance, costs, schedule, quality, and risks & opportunities mitigation actions.
- Managing interface with key customers, ensuring customer satisfaction for the project(s).
- Understanding product development dependencies.
- Implementing, with the support of Operations (PMO), a solid and comprehensive EAC process, sales and cash forecasts, and risks & opportunities management.
- Following group processes, methods, tools, and practices to deliver projects.
- Monitoring the performance of activities across all work packages.
- Ensuring lessons learned and driving project execution toward continuous improvement, including contributing to transformation plans and executing postmortem project lessons learned.
- Managing URS Projects Management resources in their project(s), ensuring team competence, development, and satisfaction while supporting the company’s footprint and business goals.
- Ensuring the development and training of project skills and expertise to achieve and sustain required levels.
- Sharing vision and demonstrating leadership by fostering alignment and focus within the project team.
- Creating an environment where the project team is motivated and focused on objectives.
- Displaying strong communication skills ensuring clarity with senior management, key customers, and project teams.
- Education:
- Degree or diploma from either a business or technical background.
- Experience:
- 10+ years of experience working in the railway transportation industry or similar industries (technical/aerospace field, etc.).
- 10–15+ years as a Project Manager with People Management/Leadership experience.
- Previous experience leading international projects in a matrix environment.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to deliver under pressure.
- Certifications:
- PMP or IPMA.
- Location:
- Located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
- Language:
- Excellent English skills.
- Engineering degree is a plus.
