Who we are

Skjodt-Barrett is a world-class manufacturer of food solutions and custom ingredients for North America's most beloved and trusted brands. We take pride in working closely with our customers to understand their unique needs and create innovative, individualized solutions that deliver joy to their customers.

A family-founded company started over 35 years ago, we are backed by the investment company Axel Johnson Inc (AJI). With their investment and support, we are well-positioned to foster growth and explore new opportunities.

Our customers, blue-chip international brands and mid-sized producers alike, are why we exist. Our teams of innovators, communicators, and managers are the people who meet their needs, build trust, and exceed their expectations.

Who we need

Reporting to the Director, Information Systems, we are seeking an Information Systems Support Technician to join our team. As our new Information Systems Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for technical issues, providing responsive and solution-oriented support to end users, and ensuring systems are running smoothly and securely. You will contribute to maintaining and improving infrastructure, servers, and security tools, and collaborate closely with our IS team in Indiana.

This is a fully onsite role based at our Brampton head office and manufacturing facility.

Who you are

You are early in your IT career and ready to take the next step to deepen your technical expertise and broaden your exposure across an organization. You bring hands-on experience supporting users and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. You are comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and understand the importance of keeping systems running smoothly on the plant floor as well as in the office. You are confident in communicating with people at all levels—from frontline staff to senior leadership—and can explain technical issues in a clear, supportive way.

What’s in it for you

Make an impact from day one. This is more than just office tech support—it is an opportunity to sharpen your IT skills while playing a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly across our entire business, from corporate offices to our manufacturing facility. You will be the go-to person for day-to-day systems support, including onboarding and offboarding, resolving access issues, and troubleshooting a range of technical problems in both Windows and Mac environments. You will gain exposure to infrastructure systems like Windows and Linux servers, VMware, enterprise networking, switches, and Wi-Fi—without needing to go deep on infrastructure setup or vendor escalations. Your role touches the full tech ecosystem, and your work will help power everything from team productivity to operational efficiency on the manufacturing floor.

Career development. At Skjodt-Barrett, we value the drive to bring ideas to life and the resilience to be accountable for your actions. We have a proven history of supporting the professional development and career growth of our people. You will work for a manager who believes in providing mentorship and sharing knowledge. You will play a critical role at a collaborative, values-driven organization that takes a family-first approach and offers the chance to scale your career, whether that’s working towards an administrator role or a team lead.

How you will make an impact:

  • Support the teams. You will provide first- and second-level technical support to end users at the Brampton facility, both in-office and in the plant. You will support and troubleshoot on-prem and cloud-based business applications and communication tools, including Zoom, Microsoft 365, and Teams. You will provide remote support for the Indiana facility as needed.
  • Onboarding and offboarding. You will set up accounts in Active Directory and configure new users, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, phones, and peripherals.
  • Maintain infrastructure. You will assist with maintaining and updating local infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, and printers. You will help deploy and manage Windows Servers and cloud services (Azure). You will support IT security tools such as endpoint protection, MFA, and patch management.
  • Share knowledge. You will maintain accurate documentation for IT systems, support procedures, and inventory.

What you bring:

  • The end-user focus. You thrive in a role where you can support people first and take a solution-oriented approach. You operate with a sense of urgency to follow through the troubleshooting process from start to finish, including communication with customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • The experience. You have worked in IT support, help desk, or systems administration roles, supporting end users, managing and configuring system access, and maintaining and updating hardware and software.
  • The technical knowledge. You are highly proficient in Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, Active Directory, and basic Azure AD administration. You have an understanding of basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs). You may have experience with Veeam Backup & Replication and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
  • The interpersonal skills. You are a clear, confident communicator who takes pride in helping others understand and use technology effectively. You approach every interaction with empathy and patience, translating technical solutions into language that makes sense to a non-technical audience. You build trust easily—whether you are working with office staff, plant team members, leadership, or external vendors—and you understand how to tailor your approach to suit different roles and personalities. You value diverse perspectives and enjoy being part of a collaborative, inclusive environment.
