Your Role Within The Team

  • Perform engineering work related to specification, assessment and manufacturing of reactor components including fuel channels/feeders/fuel handling to meet the needs of existing CANDU Nuclear Power Plants.
  • Review and acceptance of Manufacturer’s documentation (Procedures, Inspection and Test Plans, Non Conformances and/ or Design Deviation Requests) and obtain client acceptance, as required.
  • Prepare and/or review Engineering Quotation Request and Technical Tender Evaluation.
  • Prepare and/or review of technical reports for client acceptance.
  • Perform complex assignments independently or under limited supervision of an engineer in an upper grade.
  • Provide technical guidance to assist Engineering I and II team members or support employees assigned on a common project.
  • Perform site visits to client and manufacturer facilities, as required.
  • Ensure adherence to project delivery requirements and schedule.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality program requirements.
  • Interface with internal and external stake holders as required.
  • Support Engineering Management with timely updates on engineering progress as it relates to client deliverables.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Engineering degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Materials Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related work experience or familiarity with manufacture of nuclear components for CANDU Nuclear Power Plants.
  • Basic knowledge of CANDU mechanical and process systems, structures and components is an asset.
  • Ability to respond to pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
