About the workplace
We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and play a key role in designing, maintaining, and evolving Vancity’s foundational IT systems. In this role, you'll manage hybrid cloud infrastructure, streamline device and application management, and implement automation solutions that improve reliability, security, and performance. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our infrastructure supports business needs and delivers a seamless technology experience for employees and members alike.
This is an 18-month role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. This role may require you to work in-office at least once a week and may be required to be part of an on-call rotation.
A typical day would involve:
- Managing and supporting Microsoft Intune for device and application lifecycle management, including packaging, deploying, and patching applications with tools like PatchMyPC, Intune Autopatch, and Azure Update Manager
- Administering and maintaining on-premises, cloud, and hybrid server environments using Azure Arc, including configuration, monitoring, and performance tuning
- Supporting Microsoft 365 tools such as Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook, including collaboration tools and email services
- Maintaining Active Directory and EntraID (Azure AD) for identity and access management, including user provisioning, permissions, and security policy enforcement
- Managing and optimizing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments and other virtual desktop infrastructure solutions
- Designing and implementing automation solutions to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure needs and deliver scalable, secure solutions
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, and providing training or knowledge sharing with team members
- Overseeing backup and recovery operations, supporting disaster recovery planning and execution
- Supporting network connectivity, architecture, and troubleshooting as needed
You have:
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, application deployment, and patch automation tools (e.g., PatchMyPC, Autopatch, Azure Update Manager)
- Proficiency in managing server infrastructure across on-premises and cloud (Azure Arc), including performance tuning and monitoring
- Experience with Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook) and managing collaboration tools
- Strong knowledge of identity and access management using Active Directory and EntraID, including role and policy administration
- Experience configuring and managing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or similar VDI solutions
- Ability to automate infrastructure tasks and processes using scripting or modern automation tools
- A collaborative approach with strong communication skills to work effectively across teams
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, especially in performance optimization and security compliance
- Knowledge of backup/recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and basic network troubleshooting

The salary range for this role is $56,500 to $84,700 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
