In partnership with the Marketing leadership team and GrowQC / regional leaders, the Director, Marketing Planning and Regional Growth Initiatives drives sustained and profitable revenue growth by supporting the planning, development and delivery of acquisition and client engagement marketing programs in Quebec across all business lines.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • In partnership with Canadian Banking’s (CB) Marketing Planning and Delivery practice, leads planning, tracking, and reporting for Quebec-focused marketing, including consolidated campaign calendars.
  • In partnership with CB Marketing, advances Scotiabank/Scene+ marketing programs within Quebec, in support of regional primacy goals.
  • In coordination with Global Sponsorship teams, leads activation of programs in province and maximizes utilization of assets to drive Quebec’s regional business ambitions.
  • In coordination with non-retail marketing teams (Wealth, Commercial, GTB, and GBM), advances business-to-business marketing programs in Quebec.
  • Collaborates with Regional business partners to lead activation of region-funded sponsorship assets.
  • Monitors consumer sentiment, market conditions, and competitive activity on an ongoing basis to increase agility of planning processes and flexibility of budget deployment.
  • Drives a client-centric environment that leverages insights drawn from market research and data analysis to establish the strategic direction of benefit-led campaign briefs.
  • Responsible for providing insight on budget management and coordination with partners for budget revisions – within assigned regional growth efforts.
  • Accountable for building a high-performance culture that is centered on effective collaboration with business and marketing partners, to build performance-oriented campaign plan summaries, debriefs and enhancements.
  • In partnership with Global Brand (which oversees all brands globally), champions proper usage of the Scotiabank brand in Canada, in full compliance with global brand guidelines and Scotiabank’s visual identity continuum.
  • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment. Uses a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field. MBA will be considered an asset.
  • Strong strategic marketing background with at least 10+ years’ experience delivering measurable business results.
  • Bilingual French and English, with excellent communication skills in both languages.
  • Advanced understanding of the market dynamics and consumer trends / values / particularities, specific to Quebec.
  • Good knowledge of Banking / Wealth Management products and services is desirable.
  • Expertise in driving growth across multiple dimensions and KPIs
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build credibility with cross functional partners.
  • Adept in attracting and motivating talent.
  • Authentic, decisive, resilient, highly collaborative, and results oriented.
  • This role will require occasional travel in Quebec and Toronto, depending on business needs.

Please note that this role is based in our Downtown Montreal office

Pursuant to a language needs assessment conducted by Scotiabank, the successful candidate will be required to be able to communicate in English, in addition to French because they will be required to work closely with other groups from head office who operate primarily in English, and they will serve and English-speaking clientele.
