We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Insurance Manager to join our team and drive the growth of our commercial portfolio in the Ontario market.

Job Summary

The Commercial Insurance Manager will be responsible for leading and expanding our commercial insurance portfolio. This role involves overseeing a team of insurance professionals, developing strategic growth initiatives, and maintaining strong client relationships to ensure continued success in the commercial insurance market across Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Growth: Develop and implement strategies to expand the commercial insurance portfolio, targeting new clients and markets throughout Ontario while retaining existing accounts.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of commercial insurance brokers, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored insurance solutions that align with Ontario’s commercial landscape.
  • Sales and Business Development: Leverage a proven sales background to drive revenue growth, identify opportunities, and close high-value deals in the Ontario market.
  • Compliance and Licensing: Ensure all activities adhere to Ontario insurance regulations and maintain an active RIBO (Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario) license.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities specific to Ontario to position My Hunter competitively.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on portfolio performance, team productivity, and growth metrics.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of management experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on commercial insurance in Ontario.
  • Licensing: Active RIBO license required.
  • Sales Expertise: Demonstrated success in commercial insurance sales with a validated track record of meeting or exceeding targets in the Ontario market.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market trends, financial data, and performance metrics to drive strategic decisions within Ontario’s commercial insurance sector.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Insurance designations are also a plus(CIP, CRM, CAIB etc.)
