The Role
As a Staff Software Developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundation of our platform. You’ll lead architectural decisions, mentor other developers, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions that help our customers manage geohazards and infrastructure operations.

The Role
As a Staff Software Developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundation of our platform. You’ll lead architectural decisions, mentor other developers, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions that help our customers manage geohazards and infrastructure operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of core platform features with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
- Champion innovation by introducing new technologies and approaches that improve system efficiency and user experience
- Collaborate with product, data science, and geoscience teams to translate complex requirements—such as time-series and geospatial data—into elegant, high-impact software
- Architect and implement solutions using serverless and cloud-native technologies, with a strong emphasis on observability and performance measurement
- Mentor and support the growth of junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
- Contribute to long-term technology strategy and roadmap, with a focus on building resilient, efficient, and future-ready systems
- 7+ years of software development and architectural experience
- Proven track record of driving innovation in software development, with a passion for solving complex technical challenges
- Experience working with time-series data and geospatial datasets, such as imagery, LiDAR, or GIS
- Strong understanding of serverless technologies and cloud-native architectures
- Proficiency in performance measurement, observability, and system monitoring tools
- Demonstrated ability to design and optimize for efficiency, scalability, and reliability
- Skilled in modern programming languages such as Javascript, C#, .NET, and Python
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience mentoring & developing high-performing teams
- Purpose-driven mindset; passion for building tools that address real-world environmental challenges
