Senior Accountant- GPS Controllership role will be based in Canada and will report to Manager of Accounting, will be mainly responsible for accounting and reporting functions primarily supporting Ovation team in addition to the larger finance organization.

Senior Accountant- GPS Controllership role will be based in Canada and will report to Manager of Accounting, will be mainly responsible for accounting and reporting functions primarily supporting Ovation team in addition to the larger finance organization.
What You'll Do:
- Preparing and Posting Journal Entries in Agresso and Netsuite.
- Act as a liaison and calculate commissions for Independent Advisors and Affiliates (third parties).
- Prepare Blackline reconciliations for monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Upload Agresso TB to Netsuite for month end close.
- Providing ad hoc reporting, analysis, or assistance in other projects as needed as part of the larger corporate accounting organization.
- Act as a strategic partner to finance management in driving & streamlining process improvements.
- Work with various teams such as AR, AP, Supplier revenue teams etc.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes under tight timeframes.
- Ensure that accounting records are thoroughly maintained in preparation for audits.
- Maintain adequate and current documentation of the systems in support of internal control.
- Maintain a solid working knowledge of technical accounting skills.
- Participate in Finance related projects as needed.
- May assume overall responsibility for small size legal entity or regional tasks.
- Support external and internal audit requests.
- SOX and Internal Control reporting, knowledge of US GAAP
- Financial analysis, general analytics, and accounting
- Process improvements (operational and system)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 3-5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance function
- Travel industry experience preferred, not required.
- Prior experience or knowledge of Agresso is a significant asset, although not a requirement
- Customer Service experience is an asset.
- Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects while meeting goals and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functional units and levels within the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Continuous improvement approach with a proven track record to implement process improvements.
- Experience using accounting and finance software (NetSuite and/or Agresso preferred)
- Proficiency with Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Professional demeanor with ability to interact with all levels of management.
