We are seeking a customer focused, detail oriented and dedicated Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our Peller Estates Front of House (FOH) leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily service delivery of all Food and Beverage service operations on property and ensuring extremely high quality dining experiences. This is a year round position with full time benefits.
Areas of focus will include main dining rooms, seasonal outdoor patios/grills, group business/functions and events – both onsite and occasional offsite. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, personable, and have a proven track record of coaching and supervising a team for high performance. This position requires an ability to work evenings, weekdays and weekends. 60% of the role is customer and team focused, 40% is administrative.

- Supporting the execution of business strategies to meet/exceed financial (including Wine Club sales) objectives for property location(s) .
- Providing daily leadership to FOH team including;
- opening and closing duties/responsibilities, leading pre-shift meetings, attending daily Functions meetings, ensuring menus/Function menus are prepared and current, and Supervising Functions
- motivating Supervisor(s) and FOH team members to achieve assigned targets/incentives.
- coaching FOH team members to ensure performance/talent/service excellence; recognizing when to engage Human Resources to assist with performance management concerns
- assisting with FOH team member onboarding
- executing Restaurant Standards of Service and Restaurant Operational policies and procedures
- ensuring Dayforce/payroll is up to date and accurate for FOH team members
- responding efficiently and effectively to guest concerns/complaints
- Maximizing revenues per guest transaction (including up-selling) via a solid understanding of:
- dining-Menu options/property wines / accessories / experiences / Wine Club membership benefits / events
- all Estate Wine Group properties and Andrew Peller Limited Wine Shop locations
- Ensuring a Safe and Healthy Work Environment through the effective operation of the Health and Safety program and Joint Health and Safety Committee and ensures compliance with government regulations
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in an upscale restaurant environment.
- Graduate of or currently enrolled in an internationally recognized Sommelier or WSET program an asset.
- Passion for customer service.
- Proven track record of leadership and coaching a team for high performance.
- Self-motivated; able to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a busy multi functioning environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise judgement and function independently.
- Able to work evenings, weekdays and weekends
