Community work environment with a mix of in-person and virtual client visits

The Speech Language Pathologist, under the direction of the Clinical Manager, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring speech treatment, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders (adult, geriatric, pediatric). The SLP also make referrals for intervention, service and management of clients as needed, in accordance with professional standards.
Responsibilities:
Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Utilize your expertise to diagnose a wide range of speech, language, and communication disorders.
Develop Tailored Treatment Plans: Create and implement personalized, evidence-based therapy plans that cater to each client’s unique needs.
Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with physicians, psychologists, educators, and other allied health professionals, such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists and social workers, to provide holistic and integrated care.
Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure meticulous and up-to-date client records, adhering to all regulatory standards.
Engage in Continuous Learning: Stay ahead in your field by participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Educate and Empower Clients: Provide clients and their families with effective strategies to support communication and swallowing functions, enhancing their quality of life.
- Maintain active standing in College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities
- Adhere to Bayshore Therapy & Rehab Policies and Procedures
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
- Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
- Complete other tasks as requested
Qualifications:
What you bring:
Master’s Degree or recognized equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology
Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists or Speech-Language Pathologists required.
2-3 years experience providing Speech-Language Pathology services preferred.
Experience completing in-home assessments and treatments and report writing is an asset.
Enjoy working with clients of all ages in multiple treatment environments. Strong communication (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency with secure email.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
