What You’ll Do:

As a BIM/Civil 3D Specialist, you will play a key role in upholding GIP’s commitment to excellence by supporting the Company’s Estimating teams. This position requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively under deadlines. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Generate, update, and manage detailed 3D models for heavy civil projects using Civil 3D and Revit.
  • Create accurate quantity take-offs from 3D models to directly support the development of estimation bids.
  • Develop models to be used for 4D/5D simulations, construction planning, and project staging visuals.
  • Collaborate with the VDC/BIM, estimation, and project teams to ensure model accuracy and utility for various stakeholders.
  • Support active construction projects by creating visuals, drawings, and calculating progress quantities from CAD models.
  • Produce in-house design options for design-build proposals to validate project quantities and scope.
  • Maintain and enforce BIM standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

You’ll collaborate closely with the estimation team and report to the VDC/BIM Manager. You will be a key technical resource for the team.

What We're Looking For:

We’re excited to meet candidates who have:

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a CAD or BIM-focused role within the construction or engineering industry.
  • You possess a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • You are highly proficient with Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit.
  • You have a solid understanding of heavy civil construction principles and can read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience with 4D estimation software (e.g., Bentley Synchro, Fuzor) is considered a strong asset.
  • You are detail-oriented, with a proven ability to produce accurate and high-quality models and drawings.
  • You are a strong communicator and team player, capable of working effectively with project managers, estimators, and engineers.
