Your Role

Responsibilities

  • Performs role in a manner that is reflective of Brenntag’s Core Values, within regulatory requirements and company policies, programs and expectations;
  • Ensures a safe work environment at all times, reporting unsafe conditions immediately to Site Management;
  • Installs and maintains pipelines, valves, fittings and related equipment throughout the Plant, storage tanks, and other locations;
  • Installs and maintains a wide variety of pipelines such as: Iron, steel, stainless steel, copper, glass, plastic, etc., including valves and expansion joints;
  • Installs and maintains plumbing systems, heating units, safety valves, regulating valves, check-valves, blowdown valves, heat exchangers, liquefiers, coolers, condensers, columns, tanks, reactors, etc.;
  • Installs and maintains high pressure lines, and equipment containing steam, water, oil, chemicals, molten materials and liquefied gases;
  • Sets up and carries out hydrostatic pressure tests;
  • Inspects, dismantles, cleans and overhauls process columns, vessels, heat exchangers, and miscellaneous process equipment;
  • Installs insulation and pipe covering;
  • Makes patterns and cuts gaskets from a variety of materials;
  • Trains and directs lesser skills classifications as required;
  • Erects scaffolding and rigging as required;
  • Operates lesser plant vehicles such as small payloaders, forklift trucks, tractors, etc., as required;
  • Is familiar with and able to operate equipment required for each job, including the necessary safety equipment such as safety harnesses, fresh air units, explosimeters, hearing protection, etc.;
  • Must observe established safe work permit, safety, pollution and housekeeping programs and wear protective equipment as required;

  • Lockout tagout initiator and program responsible.
  • Making PO’s for supplies.
  • Dealing with contractors for quotes.

Your Profile

Education & Experience

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Previous experience in an industrial or chemical handling environment (1-2 years)
  • Knowledge and/or training in TDG, WHMIS, Emergency Response, Forklift License
  • Valid Government Steamfitter Certificate
  • Familiar with Maintain X / Preventive maintenance.
  • Some SAP knowledge.
  • French written and spoken
