Release Manager:

On behalf of our Energy client, Procom is searching for a Release Manager for a 12-15 months role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Calgary or Edmonton office.


Release Manager - Job Description:

The Release Manager will support one of the large programs undergoing. The candidate will work with program teams to understand the overall release delivery scope and collaborate with multiple partners to align delivery as per the agreed timeline.


Release Manager - Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with multiple teams to align the release scope
  • Ensure user stories are agreed upon and managed for delivery
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for timely and successful releases
  • Develop and implement release strategies and schedules
  • Identify and manage risks affecting release scope, schedule, and quality
  • Plan for Release Readiness, Milestone, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
  • Communicate release details and schedules to stakeholders
  • Lead and coordinate release activities with Project Management, Development, QA, and Operations teams
  • Provide feedback for continuous improvement of the release process


Release Manager - Mandatory Skills:

  • Good understanding of project dependencies in a large program
  • Proven work experience as a Release Manager for a large program
  • Excellent knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Capability to understand technical and functional impacts
  • Ability to handle multiple project dependencies simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Release Manager – Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Experience with Jira and Mpp
  • Accessible and teamwork-oriented
  • Effective communication skills


Release Manager – Assignment Length:

This is a 12-15 months contract position.


Release Manager - Assignment Location:

Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office.
