NAIT’s Office of Student Conduct and Accountability (OSCA) is looking for a collaborative, solution and education orientated Academic Integrity Support Assistant to join our team. The position will assist administrative and instructional teams with academic integrity and misconduct related matters. Reporting to the Academic Integrity Supervisor the Academic Integrity Support Assistant position is instrumental in supporting the coordination of the work of Academic Integrity and Academic Misconduct.


Key Responsibilities:

Data Management & Reporting

  • Supports the collection, analysis, and reporting of academic misconduct data to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and alignment with NAIT's Academic Integrity Policy and Academic Misconduct Procedure.

  • Prepares regular statistics and trend reports.

Education & Consultation

  • Supports the planning, and facilitation of academic integrity educational initiatives in collaboration with the Ai Team and NAIT wide faculty.

  • Educates staff & students on the academic integrity process and as such fosters a culture of responsibility and proactive support.

Process Coordination

  • Serve as first point of contact for integrity and transfer-credit inquiries; guide stakeholders through processes and documentation.

  • Track action items from misconduct cases; organize meetings, transcribe sessions, and compile case materials (e-proctoring reviews, screenshots, video).

  • Reviews e-proctoring videos and other materials for evidence capture purposes to provide supporting details for decisions of responsibility.

  • Manage schedules for hearings, ensuring Natural Justice and advising on restorative practice options in alignment with the Academic Misconduct Procedure.

  • Assist instructors with misconduct forms and process and transfer-credit approvals to meet program requirements.

Administrative Support

  • Work with the Integrity Supervisor to streamline workflows, develop prevention strategies, and implement awareness initiatives.

  • Attends student-instructor meetings as an objective observer to transcribe and document the interaction of both parties.

  • Prepares a consolidated information package for instructors and/or chairs inclusive of student meeting transcriptions, supporting Academic Misconduct documents such as, screenshots and video captures etc.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Represent Academic Integrity on NAIT-wide initiatives, advocating consistent practices, educating about the Academic Misconduct Procedure, and outlining what support the Academic Integrity Team can provide.

  • Attends all Academic Integrity, Transfer Credit, and campus (on a needs basis) meetings related to academic integrity to align practices and promote consistent policy application.

  • Assists the Academic Integrity Supervisor with the development and implementation of strategies related to academic integrity awareness, student retention, and proactive misconduct prevention.

  • Collaborates effectively with NAIT leadership to promote a respectful, cooperative, and solution-focused environment for both faculty and students (as needed).

  • Ensures clear and professional written communications, including memos, schedules, and formal correspondence for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Educates Instructors on Natural Justice and Restorative Practice as they relate to the Academic Misconduct Procedure, to ensure fair process.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail.

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff and instructors.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate with sensitivity, diplomacy, tact and confidentiality.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams etc.).

  • Action oriented – taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

  • Interpersonal savvy – relating openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people.

  • Ability to work independently on a variety of simultaneous projects.

  • Understanding of administrative decision making, natural justice, and academic integrity principles is required.

  • Mediation and conflict resolution skills are desired.

  • An understanding of and prior experience with post-secondary academic integrity procedures and resources.

  • Proficient with technology, learning management and student database systems would be an asset.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible office experience.

  • Experience in post-secondary or higher education.

  • Related diploma, or degree.

  • Equivalencies may be considered.



Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).


Remuneration: $48,257.04 - $62,451.48 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification – Administrative Support V).

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
