Boralex has been providing renewable and affordable energy for over 30 years. The Group, composed of more than 800 employees, operates renewable assets with an installed capacity of over 3 GW and is developing a project portfolio of 6.8 GW in wind, solar, and energy storage.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead the design and construction phases of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role is critical to ensuring that our projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in engineering or construction management, a deep understanding of energy storage technologies, and a passion for safety and sustainability.

Role
You will play an important role in:
- Project Leadership
- Manage all aspects of BESS project execution from detailed design through commissioning.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Lead cross-functional teams and maintain strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Safety & Quality Assurance
- Champion a culture of safety across all project phases, ensuring compliance with corporate HSE policies and regulatory standards.
- Implement and oversee quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) plans, including inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards and internal benchmarks for excellence.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, external partners, and regulatory agencies.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, progress reviews, and reporting to senior leadership.
- Risk & Change Management
- Maintain project risk registers and change logs; proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensure timely resolution of issues that may impact project delivery or safety.
- 5+ years of experience managing large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of BESS technologies, grid interconnection, and EPC contract structures.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder environments.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with Canadian permitting and environmental regulations.
- Familiarity with Ontario’s energy market and regulatory framework.
- Ability to work in English and French
