Work Assignment Overview

Lead EV fast charger infrastructure projects across British Columbia, overseeing all phases from design and permitting to construction and commissioning. The role focuses on underground electrical work and ensuring full compliance with applicable codes and standards.


Role Description


The Project Manager – Infrastructure Level 2 will lead medium to high-risk, highly complex EV charging and electrical infrastructure projects. This role requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

You will coordinate with BC Hydro, municipal utilities, and public agencies to deliver EV fast charger installations throughout BC. This includes managing underground electrical construction, civil coordination, utility connections, and stakeholder engagement.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead planning and delivery of EV fast charger infrastructure projects across BC.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and resources for charger installations in urban and rural locations.
  • Oversee design, construction, and commissioning of EV charging stations, including associated underground electrical and civil work.
  • Coordinate with BC Hydro, local municipalities, and stakeholders for grid connection, permitting, and site approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with BC Electrical Code, WorkSafeBC regulations, and utility standards.
  • Support environmental reviews, permitting, and Indigenous engagement as required.
  • Track project milestones and performance metrics; provide updates to internal stakeholders and regulators.
  • Prepare detailed documentation including site drawings, permit applications, construction packages, and closeout reports.
  • Contribute to program-level planning and long-term electrification strategy within BC.


Qualifications & Skills


Must-Haves:


  • Minimum nine (9) years of project management experience or equivalent.
  • Experience with BC Electrical Code and permitting practices in British Columbia.
  • Experience working with BC Hydro, municipal utilities, or public agencies on electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with underground electrical construction, civil coordination, and utility service connections.
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel within BC.


Nice-to-Haves:


  • Registration as a P.Eng or EIT in BC.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.


Additional Information


This is a hybrid role based out of Dunsmuir (Vancouver) or Victoria. The position requires periodic travel throughout British Columbia to support project delivery.
