International Practice
The Broker, International Practice plays a central role in supporting the placement and servicing of insurance programs for clients with global operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, coordination across international markets and a client-focused mindset. Working closely with producers, client executives and global network partners, the Broker ensures that coverage is placed effectively, risks are addressed appropriately and clients receive consistent, high-quality service. This is a 15-month temporary contract.
Role Description
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the placement process for incoming international insurance programs, ensuring timely and effective execution across multiple markets
- Coordinate with global partners to ensure alignment on coverage structure, compliance, timelines and service standards
- Prepare and present placement strategies, market submissions and proposal documents to support client renewals and new business
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with domestic and international insurers, underwriters and network broker partners
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete, including binders, policies, certificates, endorsements and invoicing
- Provide technical support and guidance to network broker partners on Canadian insurance matters, policy wording and regulatory requirements
- Monitor evolving domestic market conditions, products and trends to support innovation and competitive placements
- Collaborate with internal teams to address claims, mid-term changes and emerging client needs efficiently
Experience Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in commercial insurance, ideally with exposure to international placements or multinational clients
- Knowledge of global insurance markets, policy structures and regulatory environments
- Broker license required; additional designations such as CIP, CAIB or CRM are assets
- Proven ability to manage insurance placements, build insurer relationships and provide technical guidance to external stakeholders
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management and communication skills
- Proficiency in broker managers systems (Applied EPIC) and Microsoft Office tools
